1. What is the technology behind ZeroTag Tap Tags?

ZeroTag uses passive NFC (near field communication) technology. They store a small amount of data and are powered by user's phones. They are similar to EFPOS or tap-to-pay machines, but need a much closer distance to tap (about a centimetre).

2. Do ZeroTag need batteries? How long do they last?

No, ZeroTag NFCs draw power from users' mobile phones, so there are no moving parts nor battery to worry about. They typically can last 10 years or more.

3. Do ZeroTag Tap Tags work with iPhones and Android?

Yes. For iPhone, starting from iPhone XS/XR. For Android, almost all are compatible (check with your brand). No app required.

4. Can I reuse and reprogram them?

Yes. We can reprogram them for a small fee, or you can send them back to use for repurposing. We are working on making this more convenient in the future.

5. So are they like QR codes?

Yes, but you don't see them, enabling uses where aesthetics and branding are important. Also, they are reprogrammable.

6. Are they durable?

Yes. The print uses the same technology for our dishwasher-safe stickers. Plywood is also durable. Our interactive stands are water-resistant thanks to a sustainable tung oil coating.
